The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation offers free and ticketed performances throughout the year that feature the best in national, regional, and local performers whose music is innovative and rooted in the legacy of jazz. We appeal to a community excited about the future of quality music and the benefits to the cultural landscape of Indianapolis.
The Indy Jazz Fest is a community-wide celebration of Indianapolis’ rich jazz legacy.
At Indy Jazz Fest, and events throughout the year, audiences experience Indianapolis’ inspiring jazz heritage through modern-day world-class music, panel discussions, interviews, and social experiences.
Jazz at the Center is the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation’s summer performance series, bringing outstanding jazz musicians to the Indianapolis Art Center for an evening of live music. The series showcases a rich diversity of music, including traditional and contemporary jazz, Latin, soul, R&B, global, and other musical influences.
Held outdoors, Jazz at the Center invites audiences of all ages to enjoy great music, food, and drinks while experiencing the vibrant jazz culture that has long been a part of Indianapolis. Through this series, the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation continues its mission of celebrating Indianapolis’ jazz heritage, supporting musicians, and connecting new audiences with the music.

The Freddie Hubbard Memorial Jazz Band Festival is an annual educational jazz festival presented by Arsenal Technical High School and the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation to honor the legacy of Indianapolis jazz legend Freddie Hubbard.
Held at Hubbard’s alma mater, Arsenal Tech, the non-competitive festival brings together middle school, high school, and university jazz ensembles from across Indiana for a day of performance, mentorship, clinics, and musical exchange. Student musicians perform for professional jazz educators and musicians, receive feedback on their performances, and participate in clinics designed to help them develop their musicianship and deepen their understanding of jazz.
The festival celebrates Hubbard’s extraordinary contributions to jazz while creating opportunities for the next generation of young musicians to learn from professional artists. The festival connects Indianapolis’ rich jazz history with the future of jazz education and performance in Indiana.
