Jazz Education Through Advocacy, Educational Programming, Mentoring, and Student Performance
The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation is proud to present education programs in Marion County schools at little-to-no cost, so that everyone can experience the music.

The Jazz Futures is an all-encompassing program for the high school jazz musician. Participants will engage in approximately 22 sessions during this seven month program, including tutelage in jazz repertoire, improvisation, beginning jazz arranging, jazz history, and much more.
Experience the evolution of jazz and Indiana’s rich jazz legacy in an immersive live show. This performance brings the story of jazz to life while celebrating the pioneering musicians, distinctive sounds, and enduring influence of Indiana’s jazz tradition. Audiences are invited to experience a powerful musical journey that connects the history of jazz to its continued evolution today.
Jazz Impressions is an immersive program for students aged elementary to high school. It explores jazz's construction and distinctive elements through interactive performances similar to our Jazz in the 21st Century program.
This lively and engaging course is perfect for everyone - whether you're brand new to jazz or a lifelong listener. We'll explore the history, the legends, and the styles that make jazz one of the most exciting art forms in the world. You'll discover how to really listen, what gives jazz its swing, and how this music continues to influence and inspire audiences across the world. No musical experience needed - just bring your ears and curiosity and get ready to hear jazz in a whole new way.
